Winter has FINALLY coming to an end and warmer weather is here. You need some inspiration for this season’s looks to help you feel your best. According to Cosmopolitan, “Spring Summer 2018 is ALL about individuality. When it comes to hair trends, natural textures were embraced on the catwalk, from killer curly hairstyles to low-key loose waves. Makeup-wise, avant-garde looks take a back seat this season, and we saw beautiful-but-wearable natural makeup looks.”
Here are the spring & summer beauty trends we’re seeing.
Glossy Lips
“Lip gloss is back and pumping,” according to Huffington Post. “Matte took over the last few seasons, and while the trend is still in, lip gloss is coming to the forefront this spring.”
Glowing Skin
“One big trend is getting as much natural glow as possible,” according to Huffington Post. “Contours are out, and instead, makeup artists are focusing on bringing out the skin’s natural beauty.”
Hair Accessories
Whether ornamental or demure, says Vogue, “the season’s best hair accessories are always head-swiveling.”
Deep Side Parts
“We’re seeing a lot of deep side parts that go Old Hollywood in nature, but accompany natural textures of all types (enhanced with styling creams or mousses and often air-dried) and lengths that range from bobs to ultra-long locks,” according to Southern Living. A deep side part is especially fun to accessorize with fun and on-trend barrettes and pins (see above).
The New Cat Eye
Although the classic cat eye never really left, says MarieClaire, “It’s definitely having its moment in the spotlight right now—but this time with more shapes. Rather than the sloping wings of a usual cat-eye, this spring’s revival is all about sharp angles in matte-black shades.”
